One Thing to Increase Market Traffic

What is the one thing to do to increase market traffic to your site?
Create more fresh, high-quality content for your site.
That’s it.
No tricks, no gimmicks. Just create new product listings, new pagesnew post to your blog, and new images for old and new posts that will inspire Pinners to engage with and save your Pins. The key word here is inspire.
Ideally, you’ll create at least one new piece of content that you can save to Pinterest every single week. Pinterest wants to keep their platform fresh and exciting, and to that end, they’re favoring content Creators who regularly contribute great content. If you are pinning a product you should try to have a minimum of 2 Pins per week. Those 2 Pins can be of the same product, just change the image and/or description for each.
What exactly constitutes high-quality content? It should be:
·         Inspiring
·         Actionable
·         Relevant
·         Search optimized

Tailwind created SmartLoop. SmartLoop is an effective tool for resharing content without relying on a spreadsheet or just randomly re-sharing when you remember to do it. Both methods could have you resharing the same Pin too often.
OK. You ask, “When might you benefit from resharing content to Pinterest?” Here is my best answer.  The best reasons to reshare the same Pin to the same Board are:
1.    Sharing seasonal pins once or twice a year. This can surface seasonal content when it’s most relevant, meaning more engagement and distribution for the content people are ready to act on now.
2.    To engage new followers. Every four to six months, you can save the same Pin to the same Board to surface it in the following tab of your newer audience members. An example would be a winter Pin. Pin to the same board in early fall and again 4 months later
NOTE Resharing content should supplement your other Pinterest activity. Resharing should not replace a significant portion of your organic activity such as sharing your new content and other’s content.
SmartLoop analytics also give you easy access to what is generating engagement as it is reshared. If you see your numbers start to decline, it’s time to create new images for that content!
If you are using SmartLoop as intended, it will not cause you to be suspended. Next week I will go into analytics and what matters to me and why.  In the meantime, happy pinning!

Really Good Chicken Noodle Soup

Do you like Chicken Noodle Soup?  This quick and simple Chicken Noodle Soup recipe is so good. It tastes great and you feel wonderful after the first bowl. I found this recipe in a box I inherited from my grandmother. I remember spending a Saturday with her and grandfather and that lunch time smell of something good cooking. This recipe took about 25 minutes to make and it makes 8 – 10 servings.
2 quarts of water
6 tablespoons of chicken bouillon granules
6 cups of wide egg noodles (uncooked)
2 cans of condensed cream of chicken soup
2 cups of cubed cooked chicken
½ cup of sour cream
1.         In a saucepan bring the water and chicken bouillon to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook until tender. Takes about 10 -12 minutes. Reduce heat to medium and add the cream of chicken soup and chicken. Heat thoroughly.
2.         Remove from the heat and stir in the sour cream. Add salt and pepper to taste.
This is one of our all-time favorites. I hope you and your family enjoy.

Money and Time, A Great Way to Save Both

Are you struggling to save money on classroom resources? Every year it seems there is always a price increase of classroom consumable resources. That means more money spent by teachers. Do you have missing game pieces? Are the game pieces going home in small pockets and backpacks?
Do you wish there was a way to save lesson prep time? Does it seem there is more time spent preparing a lesson than teaching the lesson? Time that could be spent with your family or doing the things you want.

Take heart, good news is here. Learning Harbor Resources for Teachers has a solution to BOTH problems.  A way to save money and a way to save time. That’s right! Here’s how both problems can be solved by shopping with Learning Harbor® Resources for Teachers. Say you want to teach a math lesson on Adding Two 3 Digit Numbers or you want to help students Identify Positive Behavior Choices.  Both resources are digital. There is no printing, laminating, cutting, or storing!  No expensive ink or storage containers! You just download and teach!  That means little to no classroom expense to you and the time saving prep is minimal.

Money saving and time saving resources, along with other Learning Harbor® Resources for Teachers  can be found at Teacher’s Dojo.

Happy Groundhog Day!

Will the groundhog see his shadow this year? What is the meaning of Groundhog Day—and why do we celebrate weather predictions from a plump marmot? Here’s all you need to know about Groundhog Day!

According to legend, if a groundhog sees its shadow on this day, there will be six more weeks of winter; if it doesn’t, then spring is right around the corner.
Of course, it’s a bit of a joke. As the Almanac says, “If he sees his shadow, we’ll have six more weeks of winter; if he doesn’t, it’ll be six weeks till spring” because, of course, the dates of the equinox do not change.
Groundhog Day has deeper meaning because it speaks to the triumph of spring over winter—and birth over death. Originally, this was a Celtic festival marking the cross-quarter day, or midpoint of the season.
Today, that lore has grown into fun winter festivals, with Punxsutawney Phil and furry fellows in other states presiding. For all things groundhog, visit the folks at Punxsutawney.
How often has the groundhog really predicted the coming of spring? According to researchers, the groundhog has accurately predicted the coming of spring only 39 percent of the time (at the time of this writing). No matter what the percentage, it’s a fun time had by all!
Just knowing that Spring is around the corner is the best about Groundhog Day.
